The Niger State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled former Commissioner Mamman Musa as its Deputy Governorship Candidate for the 2027 general elections in the state.
The party’s governorship candidate, Mohammed Kpautagi, announced Musa’s candidacy during a press briefing in Minna, describing him as a grassroots politician and a vibrant young man with the capacity and experience to deliver on the party’s promises to the people.
Musa served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Water Resources, Works, and Budget and Planning under the immediate past administration of former Governor Abubakar Bello.
Kpautagi said the ADC was in a covenant with the people of Niger State to prioritise security, create jobs, strengthen the economy, and provide quality healthcare, education and infrastructure, as well as address pension-related challenges through hard work, transparency and the fear of God.
He said the 2027 election was not about political parties but about securing a better future for the children of Niger State.
According to him, the contest should not be viewed as a fight against political opponents, but as a competition over who can best serve the people and rescue the state from its challenges.
Kpautagi said the ADC would run an issue-based campaign focused on practical solutions rather than propaganda, describing the party as a vehicle for a “new beginning” in Niger State.
He called on residents to support and vote for the ADC in the 2027 elections, promising that an ADC administration would prioritise security, improve the education and healthcare sectors, rehabilitate roads, and promote agricultural development across the state.
In his acceptance remarks, the ADC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Mamman Musa, described himself as a team player and pledged his absolute loyalty to the party and its leadership.
Musa said his nomination was not only an honour to him but also to the people of Bosso and the entire state, adding that he was ready to contribute to building a model Niger State if elected.
He described the mandate as a call to service and appreciated the confidence and trust reposed in him by the party.
Musa assured the people of Niger State that he would not disappoint them, promising to work with the party’s governorship candidate and other stakeholders to deliver realistic dividends of democracy and build a “New Niger.”
