The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has debunked viral social media claims alleging that Hon. Ali Isah, the member representing Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency of Gombe State in the House of Representatives, secured 50 recruitment slots for his constituents.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the FRSC stated categorically that no appointment letter has been issued to any candidate in the ongoing 2026 recruitment exercise.
The Corps described the publication as misleading, warning that such reports risk creating a false impression regarding the integrity of its recruitment process.
Screening Not An Appointment
Clarifying the current status of the exercise, the FRSC noted that candidates who passed the screening and interview phases have only been invited to designated training schools and the FRSC Academy for further evaluation.
”Such invitation does not constitute appointment into the Corps,” the statement read.
“Candidates are still required to undergo and successfully complete the prescribed training, screening, regimentation and other mandatory processes within the stipulated period.
Only candidates who satisfactorily complete all the required stages and emerge without any disqualifying record will be considered for appointment.”
Under the leadership of Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, the agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, merit, and statutory due process. It stressed that no political office holder, group, or external entity holds the authority to confer appointments outside the established framework.
Political Opposition Calls For Investigation
The debunked publication has sparked intense political reactions in Gombe State.
Opposition candidates have labelled the claim a “scandalous campaign propaganda” designed to hoodwink voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Rambi Ayala, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) opponent to Hon. Isah, has called for a detailed investigation into the source of the recruitment claims, urging authorities to hold accountable those behind the misinformation.
The FRSC urged job seekers and the general public to disregard unverified reports and rely solely on official FRSC communication channels to avoid falling victim to recruitment scams.
