Sanwo-Olu Inspects Teslim Balogun Stadium Rehabilitation, Others Ahead Of National Intermediate Sports Festival

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inspected the ongoing rehabilitation at Teslim Balogun Stadium and other sports facilities ahead of the National Intermediate Sports Festival.

The governor said that the natural grass pitch was complete, while work on the new tartan track would be finished in the coming weeks.

According to him, the indoor halls, swimming pools and other facilities are also being upgraded to receive the thousands of young athletes expected from across the country.

“As Lagos gets ready to host the inaugural National Intermediate Sports Festival, I took time today to inspect the ongoing rehabilitation at Teslim Balogun Stadium and other sports facilities. I am pleased with the progress so far,” Sanwo-Olu stated on Saturday in a post on X.

“The natural grass pitch is complete, while work on the new tartan track will be finished in the coming weeks. Our indoor halls, swimming pools and other facilities are also being upgraded to receive the thousands of young athletes expected from across the country.”

The governor noted that his administration had for the past three years been rebuilding sports centres across Surulere, Ikorodu, Epe, Agege and Badagry, because young people deserve quality facilities close to home.

“We want them to discover their talents, compete with confidence and see a future for themselves in sports right here in Nigeria,” he added. “Lagos is ready, and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of Nigerian athletes.
